MITSUBISHI Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) on Monday said it will soon increase the prices of its vehicles, including Fuso trucks, in view of foreign exchange revaluations.
In a statement, the company said the price increase is a result of a weaker peso against the US dollar.
“As much as MMPC would like to maintain the prices of its vehicles at their current prices, MMPC is constrained to adjust its prices since the severe forex environment has raised significantly the importation costs of these vehicles,” the company said.
MMPC imports the Mirage, Mirage G4, Montero Sport and Strada from Thailand, while the Pajero, Lancer EX, ASX and FUSO Truck and Bus models are imported from Japan. The price hikes may range from 3 percent to 5 percent or around P10,000 to P20,000.
New vehicle buyers were advised to take advantage of the current prices and the on-going promotions for Mitsubishi vehicles before prices go up.
