MORE traffic enforcers were deployed on designated truck routes on Tuesday following the temporary suspension of the truck ban. Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the move is to ensure that trucks would pass through designated routes. MMDA’s policy-making body Metro Manila Council on Monday suspended for eight days the truck ban in the entire metropolis. MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino said the MMC approved a resolution lifting the truck ban in Metro Manila from May 13 to 20 in preparation for the World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia. The MMC said there is a need to assure efficient mobility of the delegates within the thoroughfares of the metropolis.
