Anticipating traffic buildup on Valentine’s Day, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has temporarily suspended road repairs and re-blocking works this coming weekend. The MMDA is also expecting heavy traffic in the metropolis due to the “Worldwide Walk” of the influential Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) in Manila on February 15. MMDA Assistant General Manager for operations Emerson Carlos said the event is expected to draw more than 1.5 million participants. He said INC members will gather in several locations, including Del Pan, Quiapo underpass and Roxas Blvd. before marching to Rizal Park. According to the INC, the national event aims to raise money for the victims of the Super Typhoon Yolanda.
