Moderate to heavy rains in Luzon due to southwest monsoon enhanced by 'Ester'

Moderate to heavy rains continue to affect western Luzon including Metro Manila due to the southwest monsoon which was enhanced by tropical depression "Ester," the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Wednesday.

In an interview, PAGASA weather forecaster Connie Dadivas said that as 4 am, the center of Tropical Depression "Ester" was estimated at 330 km northeast of Basco, Batanes (23.1°N 124.2°E) with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center and it is forecast to move northeast at 20 kph.
