SIX Monster Jam competitors have been confirmed to arrive in Manila this June to enthrall Filipino monster-truck fans with their high-flying stunts and electrifying racing aboard the high-revving, and loud-roaring five-ton beasts.
Feld Entertainment, the producers of this show, announced that the trucks’ tires have been aligned, and the exteriors have been polished, and that the trucks will be soon on their way to Manila for the “best of the best” in-door racing and freestyle competition at the MOA Arena in Pasay City.
The Monster Jam competitors who are expected to rock the world of Filipino monster-truck enthusiasts include: The Grave Digger, with four World Finals championships under its belt – or hood, it is one of the most recognizable trucks in the world. Its mystical green flames and decorated exterior certainly makes this truck a rock star among its competitors; Max-D, its supernatural ability in both racing and freestyle competitions has made fans’ jaw drop to the floor, with its aerodynamically-built body winning a total of 11 World Finals championships. Max-D will wow the crowd with its signature cyclone and insane donuts; El Toro Loco, its massive and menacing horns stick out from the sides and gore competitors, and the raging looks are not just for show. It shares the Freestyle Championship title at the 2004 Monster Jam World Finals; Zombie, when Monster Jam gave the fans the chance to pick a monster truck created, Zombie rose and emerged victorious. It debuted in 2013 with experienced driver Sean Duhon. Its killer moves and twists made the fans even more eager to see what this monster truck can do; with Dragon, the competition is going to heat up once this monster truck smashes its way into the arena.
Promising to leave a trail of destruction, Dragon will go through boulders and over hurdles to win this competition; Son-uva Digger, while Son-uva Digger has been in the competition since 2011, many fans still see it as the new generation of the Grave Digger. The exterior of this beast is enough to get the fans’ attention with its ferocious purple murals and its 1950s Willy’s body style.
Will the Grave Digger be able to win the first ever Manila leg, or will Max-D add another triumph to its collection? The El Toro Loco is keyed up to get into the track. Zombie is headed for a kill with its electrifying moves. The Dragon is on fire, and Son-Uva Digger is fuelled up to show off what it can do.
The Monster Jam action is scheduled for three shows at the MOA Arena on June 20-21. Tickets can be purchased from the SM Ticket network or at the Manila International Auto Show, Monster Jam booth in the World Trade Center, Pasay City, from April 9 to 12.
