The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) on Tuesday conducted its 9th round of “Oplan Galugad” at the medium security camp of the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) in Muntinlupa City (Metro Manila) and found more appliances, gadgets, knives and drug paraphernalia. BuCor Director General Ricardo Rainier Cruz 3rd and NBP Supt. Richard Schwarzkopf who led the raid said some appliances found in prison cells were allegedly borrowed from BuCor personnel. Cruz said there is clear evidence of connivance between inmates and some prison officials as the items were the ones earlier requested by their personnel supposedly for their official use. In a raid last December 8, six jail guards were found possessing contraband that were seized in earlier operations. They are now facing preventive suspension and administrative charges.
