A total of 257 drug users and pushers surrendered to the police and barangay officials in Muntinlupa City on Tuesday.

The Anti-Illegal Drugs-Special Operations Task Group said it conducted “Oplan Double Barrel” in support to the Barangay Drug Clearing Strategy and neutralization of illegal drug personalities nationwide of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The Muntinlupa “Tokhang Team” composed of members of the PNP, Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Office, and Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council held house-to-house visitations and interviews on drug users who opted to surrender.

More than 260 households of suspected illegal drug personalities were visited by the “Tokhang Team” which said they will continue to verify individuals listed in their intelligence report.

The Muntinlupa police said as of Tuesday morning, 105 drug users surrendered.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi ordered the Muntinlupa Police to augment drug clearing strategies in the communities and encouraged residents to report cases of illegal drugs in their area by calling 862-2611 (DESK), 862-3778 (COP), 862-1841 (CID), 543-0799 (DEU), and 861-7922 (Intel).
