Independence Day celebrations in Luzon, including Metro Manila, will likely be wet because of the southwest monsoon enhanced by tropical depression Ester.
Although Ester has moved out of the Philippine area of responsibility, the next three days will continue to be rainy.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said moderate to heavy rains can be expected in Batanes, Calayan, Babuyan, Ilocos, Cordillera, Pampanga, Bataan and Bulacan. Visayas and Mindanao will be cloudy.
Weather forecaster Alvin Pura said a new low pressure area (LPA) is forming along the West Philippine Sea and this may develop into another tropical depression.
If the LPA turns into a storm and enters the Philippines, it will be named Florita.
The weather bureau is expecting two to three tropical depressions this month.
