MORE THAN 400 NABBED FOR ELECTION GUN BAN

MORE than 400 persons, mostly civilians, have been arrested by the police for violation of the election gun-ban ahead of village elections next week, figures from the Philippine National Police (PNP) revealed on Tuesday. The PNP has started implementing on September 28 and will last up to November 12 a nationwide elections gun-ban that is meant to curb the possible outbreak of violence for the upcoming village elections. Figures from the PNP national operations center in Camp Crame said that of the 451 persons arrest for election gun-ban, 422 of them are civilians; 17 security guards; five police personnel; four military men and three government officials.
