THE National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) on Thursday said it will deploy more policemen in select areas in Metro Manila to safeguard the celebration of the country’s 118th Independence Day on June 12.
Additional policemen will be deployed simultaneously to the Rizal National Monument in Rizal Park in Manila, Mausoleo de los Veteranos Revolucion also in Manila, Bonifacio National Monument in Caloocan City, Dambana ng Pinaglabanan in San Juan City and Quezon City Hall, Quezon City.
Director Joel Pagdilao, NCRPO chief, said in a statement that the Manila Police District will provide security coverage at Rizal Park (Luneta) and Mausoleo de los Veteranos Revolucion and the Northern Police District at the Bonifacio National Monument.
The Eastern Police District will stand guard at the Dambana ng Pinaglabanan and the Quezon City Police District at Quezon City Hall.
The Southern Police District and the Regional Public Safety Battalion will lead Civil Disturbance Management personnel.
Pagdilao has ordered all district directors, police chiefs and station commanders to secure places of engagement as well as places of public convergence against criminal groups and individuals who will take advantage of the Independence Day celebration.
He urged the public to immediately report to the police suspicious persons and activities in their communities.
