• Mother’s body retrieved, daughter still missing in ‘Queenie’ aftermath

DUMAGUETE CITY: The body of a woman who was carried downstream along with her daughter by flash floods at the height of Tropical Depression Queenie on Thursday was recovered on Friday morning at a lower village in Tayasan town, Negros Oriental. The body of Hanilyn Andales, 25, was found stuck in debris along the riverbank in Barangay Sukid, several hundred meters downstream from their residence in Sitio Pasong, Barangay Cambaye. Mayor Susano Ruperto Jr. said the search for Andales’ five-year old daughter, Je-Ann, continues. Je-Ann was crossing a creek in Cambaye with her mother when the floods swept them away.
