Motorcycle accidents claim 4 in Rizal, Bataan

FOUR persons, including a member of an elite police commando unit, died in separate road accidents involving a motorcycle in Antipolo City, Rizal and Bataan on Tuesday evening.

Chief Inspector Aristone Dogwe, Antipolo police deputy chief, identified the fatalities as Police Officer 2 Delbert Asoy, a Police Special Action Force (SAF) commando, and his wife Marilyn, of Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City (Metro Manila).

Investigation showed that the couple was riding a motorcycle negotiating a zigzag road in Antipolo when a 10-wheeler truck driven by Luisito Gala sideswiped them at about 9 p.m.

The woman was thrown under the truck and was run over, cutting her body in half.

Asoy was unhurt but upon seeing his wife dead, drew his gun and shot truck helper Niko Castillo in the head and in remain critical condition.

Shortly after, Asoy was found dead with a gunshot wound in the head, believed inflicted by a 9mm Gloc pistol.

The couple left behind a nine-month-old baby.

Meanwhile, a mother and her teenaged son died while her husband was seriously injured when a tailing passenger bus bumped the motorcycle they were riding along Roman Superhighway in Abucay, Bataan.

The victims—Elet Carreon, 60 and Roberto, 15—died on-the-spot while her husband, Ricardo Osias, 52, sustained serious injuries.

The victims were on their way to their shanty adjacent to the public cemetery in Barangay Salian in Abucay when a Genesis bus driven by Rogelio Evangelista hit them.
