MOTUL has been named as the official lubricant of the Toyota Vios Cup race cars.

The brand’s appointment was recently announced by Toyota Motor Phils. (TMP), which is staging the one-make race series. In the agreement, Motul’s oils and other lubricants will be used to protect and power the Vios Cup cars.

Motul is exclusively distributed in the Philippines by Autoplus Sportzentrium.

“We are happy about this project, and this only certifies that when it comes to real performance, Motul is the oil and lubricant of choice,” said Motul Phils. President Carlos Gono.

During the announcement, the Motul chief in the country was accompanied by Motul Asia Pacific Manager Samuel Kang and Sales Manager Burt See.

At the same event, TMP President Michinobu Sugata said; “Toyota is proud to have Motul as one of the major sponsors of the Vios Cup.”

Besides taking part in numerous race series globally, Motul has been developing products intended for motor sports for 160 years. Its fully synthetic oils guarantee real protection and performance, and is chosen by motor racing teams and tuning divisions like TRD, Tom’s, Yamaha Racing, Mugen, Nismo, Team Suzuki, Subaru Tecnica International and HRC Honda, among others.

The Vios Cup is set to hold its first leg on May 24 at Clark International Speedway, with 30 racers expected to comprise the starting grid. Besides 19 individual teams, competitors will include celebrities Phoemela Baranda (winner of the Vios Cup exhibition race), Rhian Ramos, Sam YG, Fabio Ide and Jinno Rufino. The event will also feature fun-filled activities for kids, a gathering of Toyota car clubs and a drifting exhibition by Keiichi Tsuchiya.
