MOZAMBIQUE POLICE TO REINFORCE SECURITY IN BRAZIL FOR WORLD CUP

MAPUTO: A contingent of the Mozambican Police, numbers yet to be announced, is expected in Brazil to help reinforce security during the 2014 World Cup slated for June 12 to July 13 this year, local newspaper reported on Monday. Although Mozambique is not part of the teams that will compete for the world trophy in Brazil, the African country’s police will provide their contributions through protection of matches and to the competing teams’ accommodation in certain hotels, the Maputo daily Noticias reported. The Mozambican police authorities will be under the command of Brazilian authorities and the protection will extend to training matches of teams as well.
