MRT trains stall again but problem isn’t technical this time

Authorities of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT)-3 are investigating a trash throwing incident early Tuesday in which debris that landed on its rails and cables between the Magallanes and Taft Stations forced trains to stop, inconveniencing commuters yet again.

A radio report quoting MRT-3 Director Deo Manalo said he sent a team that would check whether there were CCTVs that could have caught the perpetrator in the act.

Train operations have since resumed after the area has been cleared of debris, according to the report.

The MRT has incurred the ire of the public because of its “habitual” breakdowns caused by technical glitches.
