In July, Marks & Spencer’s (M&S) opened its flagship store in the Philippines at Central Square, the newest retail destination in the heart of Bonifacio High Street, Taguig.
The grand launch featured a fresh collaboration with the SoFa Design Institute by means of style-off competition held at the Central Square Atrium. Eight creative student stylists from the SoFa Design Institute were tasked with creating key looks from the Marks & Spencer collection based around three sartorial themes: Stylish work wear, Laidback casual weekend and Stylish night out.
Seasoned models Tweetie de Leon-Gonzales and Apples Aberin, together with renowned designers Randy Ortiz and Hindy Weber Tantoco judged the M&S style-off, and based the winning collection on its theme relevance, runway impact, and creativity and execution.
Model Sara Meier hosted the competition where the grand winners received cash prizes and gift vouchers from M&S.
An official ribbon cutting ceremony and
ceremonial toast followed the competition, led by British Ambassador Asif Ahmad, together with M&S Philippines’ general manager Steven Sarmenta and M&S International’s head of visual merchandising Lee-Oliver Morely.
Marks & Spencer is located at the upper ground level and second floor of Central Square, 5th Ave. cor. 30th St. Bonifacio High Street Central, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
