FILIPINO-American middleweight mixed martial arts fighter Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Muñoz will return to the Octagon on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) to fight American Tim “The Barbarian” Boetsch in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 162 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
After a year of absence since losing to Chris Weidman in July 2012, Muñoz went through intensive training and conditioning.
“Right now, I’m feeling super excited about the fight. I feel like I’m prepared and I’ll be in there able to give my best. I’m in the best shape of my career. I’ve never felt like this before,” Muñoz, 35, said via his twitter account @mark_munoz.
Muñoz holds 12-3 win-loss slate with six knockouts against the 32-year old Boetsch’s 16-5 win-loss record.
The Muñoz -Boetsch fight is one of the undercard fights of the UFC 162 main event bout between challenger Weidman and UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
