• Murder witness gets P50K bounty


    A lone witness in the killing of the Barangay Chief of Barangay Bacao 2, General Trias, Cavite pocketed P50,000 bounty on Thursday morning at Camp Pantaleon Gacia, Imus City, Cavite.

    Cavite Provincial Police Director Joselito Esquivel Jr., together with his Deputy for Operation-Police Supt. Joseph Javier and Provincial Intelligence Branch Chief Romano Cardino handed over the cash to the witness who was unidentified as a tricycle driver.

    According to Esquivel, the witness saw the incident on November 26 after two suspects riding in tandem ordered the victim Danilo Monton, 63, the village chief to pulled over to the side of the road. Then the backrider suspect shot Monton in the head that resulted in his instant death.

    One of the suspects was identified as Wilson Garcia Lumayog a relative of the victim. The witness said that while he was driving his tricycle he saw the suspect without his helmet face to face while maneuvering in the U turn area.. He immediately reported the incident to the police.

    The police armed with warrant of arrest issued by Provincial Prosecutor Emmanuel Rivera immediately served to the suspect who was at that time was inside his house. They recovered a red motorcycle with plate number 3648 WS and ammunition, but the .45 caliber pistol used in the killing could not be recovered.

    During the background check of the suspect by investigators they traced the suspect’s name through his Facebook account. It was there that the suspect uploaded his photo, his motorcycle, .45 caliber pistol and ammunition.

    When the investigators showed the photo of the suspect to the witness he verified that it was the same person he saw commit the crime.

    In the lock cell of the suspect at Camp Pantaleon Garcia, the witness positively identified the suspect as the gunman while his co-hort fled and is still at large. He was charged with murder and illegal possessions of ammunition.
