Due to a fire at Basement 2 of GMA Network Center on September 29, which temporarily affected the TV network’s operations, fans of its biggest hit to date, My Husband’s Lover, rejoiced at the show’s two-week extension.
Originally intended to conclude as early as October 4, the four-month old series, which had viewers glued to their screens is ending—on a very high note—tomorrow.
Indeed, the love triangle of Dennis Trillo’s character Eric, Tom Rodriguez’ Vincent and Carla Abellana’s Lally in GMA Network’s most provocative drama series will not be forgotten any time soon.
This highly-dramatic and intriguing soap opera tackled true to life relationships, while at the same time defied all conventions on traditional drama soaps with its bold story line. It drew viewers to understand that love is not defined by sexual preference, and no matter how different it is from the love most know, it could still be equally pure, selfless and true.
According to data from the industry’s widely trusted ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement, the series was preferred by more viewers as it defeated its rival programs in urban Luzon and Mega Manila during its run.
Based on overnight household ratings data recorded in Urban Luzon for June 10 to October 9 (weekdays), My Husband’s Lover scored an average household rating of 22.8 percent versus its rival programs. For the same period in Mega Manila, MHL scored 25.2 against competing programs.
And now as My Husband’s Lover is to its last two days, join the rest of the nation in finding out if Eric, Vincent and Lally will each have their own happily ever after.
