N. Cotabato El NiÑo victims given rice


COTABATO CITY, Maguindanao: Thousands of El Niño victims in North Cotabato have continued to get rice rations from the provincial government since April, Vergelita Guilaran, provincial social welfare officer said. At least 198,760 farmer families in Kidapawan City and in 11 North Cotabato towns benefited from the continuing rice assistance. The relief missions are directly supervised and documented by the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) North Cotabato chapter. The relief operations covered a total of 367 barangays in Kidapawan City and in the municipalities of Arakan, Antipas, Matalam, Alamada, Aleosan, Carmen, Pigcawayan, Midsayap, Banisilan, Makilala and Pikit. Guilaran said they aim to distribute 7,964 bags more of rice in the next five days to families in the towns of Kabacan (5,419); Magpet (14,601); Pres. Roxas (9,216); Libungan (10,618); Tulunan (12,081) and in Mlang (17,678).
