N. Cotabato PNP intensifies drive vs. stolen motorbikes


KIDAPAWAN CITY: The North Cotabato police office on Saturday announced it has confiscated more than 80 assorted motorcycles as it intensified campaign against unregistered and stolen motor vehicles. Chief Inspector Bernard Tayong, chief of the Police Community Relations Office, said most of the motorcycles impounded at its provincial office in Barangay Amas, Kidapawan City were either stolen. Police checkpoints have been set up by all police offices in North Cotabato’s 17 municipalities and in this city to check on certificate of registration and ownership of motorcycles plying the province. Senior Supt. Danilo Peralta, North Cotabato police office, said regular inspection of motorcycles plying in the province’s major streets should be checked after crimes against life with the suspects using motorbikes had been rising. He did not give data on the number of crime incidents that include crime against life.
