IT’s not just former child actor Jiro Manio who have sought refuge in the terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Some 130 workers who lost their jobs at a nearby construction site have also turned the terminal as their temporary home. The laborers used to work at Whiteport, Inc., a construction company working on a Megaworld project just across the terminal in Pasay City. One of them, identified as Alex Mahusay, admitted he and his peers spent most of their time at NAIA terminal 3 after the firm kicked them out of work. “Wala kaming mapuntahan para may matulugan kundi sa terminal 3 (We have nowhere else to go but the terminal 3),” Mahusay said. Asked why they’re still hanging around, he replied, “hinihintay namin ang aming sweldo (we’re waiting to be paid our salaries).”.
