• NAIA drivers undergo annual drug test

More than 50 drivers from the Airport Shuttle Service Inc., (ASSI) operating at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals 1 and 2 underwent annual drug testing recently to clean the transport services from drug users. ASSI chairman Romeo Sayaman said the first batch of drivers voluntarily undergo urine drug tests while another group of accredited drivers would have their drug testing next week. Sayaman, who is also president of the Airport Transport Concessionaires Association Inc. (ATCAI) with some 3,000 members of different operators, said he will be responsible for requiring its member-companies to have all their drivers undergo a yearly random drug test. The transport official said that any ASSI and ATCAI drivers found positive for traces of illegal drugs shall be subjected to disciplinary action or immediate termination with no appeal.
