Tropical depression “Nando” could linger in the country until Thursday or Friday and enhance the southwest monsoon.
PAGASA said that as of 4 a.m. Monday, Nando was 560 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora with winds of 55 km an hour.
It is forecast to move north-northwest at 15 kph.
Nando could intensify into a storm since it is drawing power from the sea.
Rather than make landfall, it will just move off the eastern side of the country and head towards Taiwan.
PAGASA said Bicol, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) and the province of Aurora will be cloudy with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms which may trigger flash floods and landslides.
The same conditions will prevail in Metro Manila and Quirino, Isabela and Nueva Vizcaya, the rest of Central Luzon, Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), Visayas, Zamboanga peninsula, Caraga and Northern Mindanao.
The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated showers or thunderstorms.
