SANTA ROSA CITY: Janet Lim-Napoles, the alleged mastermind of the P10-billion pork barrel anomaly, was transferred to Fort Santo Domingo in Santa Rosa, Laguna, on Sunday morning.

Special Action Forces (SAF) Director Carmelo Valmoia said Napoles was officially turned over by Insp. Fermin Enriquez, the officer-in-charge of the Makati City Jail, to the SAF at 6:30 a.m. and was received by Supt. Francis Allan Reglos.

The police convoy carrying Napoles left the Makati jail around 5 a.m.

Napoles reportedly rode the same white police coaster that brought her to the jail on Wednesday night, not long after she surrendered to President Benigno Aquino 3rd.

In the convoy were SAF members in full battle gear and riding motorcycles, a police van, and a tinted sports utility vehicle that reportedly brought high-ranking police officials to the camp.

Security in Fort Santo Domingo has been tightened for Napoles. Surveillance cameras were installed in the detention facility as well as the visitors’ area.

Napoles’ detention quarters, a bungalow, is not air-conditioned, but being a diabetic, she was allowed to bring a small refrigerator for her medicines.

Valmoria said there is a doctor and a nurse in the camp if ever Napoles needs medical attention.

Cooking is not allowed inside the detention facility. Napoles will depend on the food rations brought to her by SAF staff.

Visitors, including family members or lawyers, will have to leave their cellphones with the authorities.

The bungalow served as detention center for Nur Misuari, former president Joseph Estrada and son Jinggoy and Gringo Honasan.

It has a floor area of 82.4 square meters.

The Receiving Room is 40 sqm with a 3.25 sqm common bathroom.

Room 1 which Napoles will use is 19.2 sqm with its own comfort room.

Lorna Kapunan, Napoles’ lawyer, said her client need to be constantly monitored by her doctors because of her diabetes.

She assured that Napoles will attend hearings of her illegal detention case at the Makati Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 150.
