BEAUTY products brand Naruko, a bestselling brand online in Taiwan and China that also has 30 stores in the Philippines, is looking to expand its presence in the domestic beauty and skin care market.
“We are targeting 100 stores by the end of the year and also looking at the Cebu market,” said Naruko general manager Rachel Cheung during the Beauty Industry Trade Meeting organized by Taiwan Trade Center Manila.
In 2010, Naruko was favored by over a billion online users in China, Cheung said.
It was founded by beauty guru Niu Er, also known as Robin Niu or Niu Er Lao Shi, who is widely referred to in Taiwan as the “ beauty king.”
Naruko not only provides better prices and trading terms for local farmers and workers, but also utilizes Taiwan plant extracts to promote local plants such as Taiwan Magnolia, Raw Job’s Tears and Djulis, Cheung said.
Naruko products are sold in China, Hong Kong, Macau, the US, Canada, Spain, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.
In the Philippines, Naruko is the only Taiwan beauty brand being sold in the Watsons chain of stores.
