• National police see quiet holiday season

The Philippine National Police (PNP) leadership on Wednesday expressed confidence that this year’s Christmas season will be peaceful and orderly, saying no terror threat has been monitored by the organization.

The PNP chief, Director General Ricardo Marquez. told reporters during a chance interview in Camp Crame—the national police headquarters located in Quezon City—that police personnel are keeping a tight watch on critical areas and public places such as malls, transport terminals, seaports and airports this Holiday Season.

Still, Marquez said, the PNP chief said they will continue to maintain heightened alert status as they are expecting exodus of millions of Filipinos to various places of convergence and malls starting next week.
