National University (NU) wants to get back on track when it tackles Adamson University on Saturday in the University Ath-letic Association of the Philip-pines Season 76 men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The Bulldogs will collide with the Soaring Falcons at 4 p.m. while University of the East (UE) battles De La Salle University in the 2 p.m. opening game.
Far Eastern University (FEU) is currently holding the solo lead with 5-0 followed by last year’s runner-up University of Santo Tomas (3-1), NU (3-2), Adamson (2-2), La Salle (2-2), UE (2-3), defending champion Ateneo de Manila University (1-4) and University of the Philippines (0-4).
NU absorbed an 83-87 beating at the hands of FEU on Wed-nesday but two-time Most Valuable Player Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and the rest of the Bulldogs are expected to come back strong to stay in the top-four position.
Parks had 26 points and eight rebounds and Cameroonian Emmanuel Mbe connected 27 points, hauled down 17 boards and had a couple of block shots in their last game.
But Jeff Javillonar, Robin Rono and Joshua Alolino must also contribute in scoring department as the trio just produced a combined 18-point output.
The Soaring Falcons are also raring to bounce back following their 59-71 loss to Ateneo on Sunday.
Adamson be will relying on Jericho Cruz, who is ranked sixth in scoring with an average of 16.3 per game. Backing him up are Cameroonian Ingrid Sewa, Roider Cabrera and Rodney Brondial.
