The artistic panata |
|
DEVOTION this Holy Week need not be masochistic or
mantric; it can be creative and artistic too. Don’t torture
yourself with traffic, overcrowded resorts and overpriced rates.
Enough of the same old biblical movies. Contemplate and enlighten
yourself, not with repetitious chants or delirious fasting but with
art.
This year, make your pilgrimage
to the 2007 Kristo painting exhibit—Jesus Christ as interpreted in
66 ways by 66 artists. Into Thy hands, the exhibit is simultaneously
ongoing on the first floor of Gallery in Serendra and the Choice
Expression Gallery on Jupiter Street, Makati, until April 14.

Bringing art to
the people
|
|
Mention art and for many, the
image that comes to mind is that of paintings and sculptures in
staid galleries and museums that only the rich and the culturally
refined could appreciate.

Holy Week ought to
be like every week
|
|
People like to say that every day
should be like Christmas day—meaning that we should always be as
generous, forgiving and considerate as we are on the holiest time
for Christians.
