Company verifies Pacquiao’s
policy for PCM members

DAVAO CITY: The insurance policy distributed to members of the People’s Champ Movement (PCM) by boxing champion Manny Pacquiao is valid, according to the insurance company.

Wilson Gunay, operations manager in General Santos City of the Stronghold Insurance, bared this.

“Hindi peke yan [It’s not fake],” Gunay said.

The Certificate of Coverage was issued to Pacquiao by the Stronghold’s main office in Manila. The insurance policy is the Unlimited Personal Accident [UPA],” he added.

The policy, however, doesn’t cover intentional accidents like murder.

Gunay said their office is willing to pay if the reason of the death or accident is valid or covered by the policy. Their office in General Santos is available and willing to assist them in making their follow-up of their claims in Manila.

The first beneficiary is Pacquiao’s former boxing time keeper Rudy Banas, 67, who was killed by a motorcycle while crossing J. Catolico Avenue in front of his house beside the Bernabe Coliseum on March 23.

Gunay said Stronghold has been established since 1960. It covers the insurance of all the banks of the Land Bank of the Philippines.

Stronghold also covers the insurance of the four airplanes and helicopters of Lapanday for P6 million each.
