Iligan seeks 3rd NBC win

ILIGAN CITY: The Firefly/Iligan Crusaders stake their unbeaten record against the Toyota-Iloilo Warriors Monday as action resumes in the 2007 NBC National Cup basketball tournament at the MSU-IIT gym here.

Mayor Lawrence Cruz’s Crusaders, who are also supported by Sen. Ralph Recto, are slightly favored in the 6:30 p.m. posy-Holy Week contest.

The Crusaders are eyeing their third straight win and a share of the early lead with idle Tagaytay Spring Cooking Oil, last year’s runner-up. They crushed the Montaña Pawnshop-Davao Jewelers, 86-72, just before NBC’s Holy Week break.

Iligan will rely on the Ferdie Go, Bong Marata and Fil-Am guard Rich Hardin in their bid to catch Tagaytay Spring on top of the tourney supported by Sulpicio Lines, Yahoo Philippines, Spring Cooking Oil ,San Miguel Beer, Caltex, Sun Cellular, Firefly Lights, Trans Asia Shipping Lines, Molten, Nature’s Spring, Basketball TV and Viva Prime Channel.
