Reelectionist Sen. Joker P. Arroyo received an early
endorsement from his fraternity in the Upsilon Sigma Phi Alumni
Association.
USPAA Chairman Dean Antonio Abad
and President Francisco “Jun” Aniag has informed Sen. Joker
Arroyo of the USPAA board’s unanimous decision to endorse and
support his reelection bid. Senator Arroyo is a candidate of the
administration Team Unity.
Aniag, himself a former
congressman from Bulacan, assured Arroyo of the 2,000-plus
campaigners from among U.P.alumni.
Abad for his part promised to
campaign for the Bicolano senator among various school and college
associations he is connected with. Abad is the dean of the Law
College of San Sebastian.
The Upsilon Sigma Phi, which
counts among its distinguished alumni such luminaries as Sen.
Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Gerardo “Gerry” Roxas, Salvador
“Doy” Laurel, Sotero “Teroy” Laurel, Arturo Tolentino, Juan
Liwag, Richard “Dick” Gordon and Mamintal Tamano, is the oldest
university fraternity in UP and in Asia, having been founded in
1918.
Senator Arroyo is considered
among the best legal luminaries the Upsilon has produced. He belongs
to Batch 1948.
