HP

What is it: The latest
fully-loaded tablet PC from HP.
Who’s it for: People who want
it light, powerful and convertible to a tablet.
Wallet magnet: AMD Turion 64 X2
dual-core mobile technology TL-52 processor (1.6GHz); genuine
Windows Vista Home Edition; 1024MB DDR2 SDRAM; 100GB SATA hard
drive; double-layer super multi DVD±R/RW with LightScribe;

5-in-1 digital media card reader;
remote, headphones
ExpressCard/34 slot; QuickPlay
buttons; fingerprint reader; HP Imprint finish.
On second thought: For now,
hardware driver problems are a bane for Windows Vista; AMD chip
tends to get too hot.
What’s in the box: HP Pavillon
TX1000 tablet PC; extra extended battery pack; pen stylus; power
adapter.
Tech Times verdict: Go and buy
one, that is if you’re ready to dwell in the realm of
Microsoft’s latest OS, which for now leaves us at Tech Times
frustrated over driver compatibility for many of our external
hardware, not to mention multilayer security that annoys more than
make you feel safe. By this time, Windows XP is already stable and a
more reliable version, which is for us, a better Windows OS
option—at least until the first Vista service pack comes in.
