Canaleta eyes 3rd slam-dunk crown

HIGH flyer Niño Canaleta is seeking a third straight Slam Dunk title in the coming 2007 PBA All-Star weekend.

But out to foil the bid of the Air21 forward to become the first player to win the event thrice in a row is the same former champion whom Canaleta beat out for the crown last year.

Red Bull’s Cyrus Baguio seeks payback against the former University of the East stalwart as he leads an array of known jammers entered in the competition that serves as one of the side events of the annual classic made possible by Victory Liner—the league’s official carrier.

Talk ‘N Text’s Anthony Washington and freshmen Kelly Williams of Sta. Lucia, Arwind Santos of Air21, Gabby Espinas of San Miguel Beer and Alaska’s Aaron Aban are among the players standing path on Canaleta’s attempt at history. The provinces of San Fernando, La Union and Baguio are hosting this year’s All-Star festivities set April 25-29 with San Miguel Corporation, Air 21, Accel, Coke, Pagcor, PCSO and World of Fun as sponsors.
