Biodiesel picks up

FLYING V reported rising demand for its biodiesel product, as the alternative fuel was loaded six million times over in refilling stations across the country.

Jaz Lualhati-Iglesias, Flying V marketing manager, said during a review of the company’s nationwide biodiesel roll-out that demand for its B1 biodiesel blend has been picking up since it was launched in August 2005.

She added that Flying V’s dealers have reported a “very perceptible understanding and acceptance of biodiesel” among the consumers. This was attributed to the oil company’s sustained information and promotion campaign.

Since launching its B1 product, which has a 1-percent mix of biodiesel, in Cainta back in 2005, Flying V has successively rolled out the product all over the country, from Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte to Davao City in the south.
