IT has taken Mayor Florencio Bernabe Jr. of Parañaque City years and the 2007 campaign to announce a thorough overhaul of Baclaran. The makeover is overdue.

In a statement, Bernabe said that his office would give Baclaran a major facelift by installing more street lamps, waiting sheds and public benches. The city will replace the sidewalks with brick pavements.
