NAGA CITY: Rep. Luis Villafuerte
of Camarines Sur is all out campaigning against the reelection of
his son Gov. L-Ray Villafuerte, assuring the people of Camarines
Sur that the next governor would be his candidate, former
representative Eduardo Pilapil.
Declaring that his feud with his
son is not a “moro-moro,” the elder Villafuerte, chairman of the
Kabalikat ng Mamamayang Pilipino (Kampi) said his son is running
under Lakas-CMD.
“I want to make it known to all
that my family including my wife is against our son who is an
ingrate and disrespectful that w need to teach him a lesson,” said
the elder Villafuerte.
“You cannot afford to have a
provincial leader for another term who is disrespectful to his
parents, right?” Villafuerte would ask his audience rhetorically
during his campaign sorties.
Villafuerte who is seeking
reelection said Pilapil, who was a former post master during the
Ramos administration is running under Kampi and is backed by the
budget Secretary Rolando Andaya Jr., Rep. Felix Alfelor Jr., and
presidential son Diosdado “Dato” Arroyo, who is running for
congressman in the Camarinies Sur’s First District.
However, the younger Villafuerte
remains unperturbed by this development and ironically supportive of
his father’s reelection.
“I don’t care if my father is
mad at me. He’s my father and I love him so I am campaigning for
his reelection,” said the younger Villafuerte.
The elder Villafuerte reiterated
that he wants his son to make a public apology to redeem his sins
against the people of Camarines Sur. He said the governor should
have chosen capitol employees’ interests to own residential lots
instead of constructing a water sports complex designed to attract
foreign and local tourists.
The younger Villafuerte is
confident though that despite this family feud, his good performance
would get him reelected.
