GENUINE Opposition reelectionist Sen. Panfilo
Lacson on Monday decried the allegedly malicious text messages
circulating that says his former police deputy, Michael Ray Aquino,
had conducted espionage activities in the United States to benefit
Lacson.
Lacson accused the administration
of being behind what he called “this black propaganda.”

Reconciliation is OK, but Palace denies Honasan joining Team Unity
Malacañang on Monday announced
that President Arroyo is still open to reconciliation with any
member of the political opposition.
But Palace spokesman Secretary
Ignacio Bunye denied that former senator Gregorio Honasan would be
joining Team Unity to replace its “weakest candidate.”
Bunye stressed that Team Unity
candidates will remain intact amid insinuations that Honasan would
come in to take the slot of either TU candidate Vicente Magsaysay or
Cesar Montano.
On Sen. Joker Arroyo’s call
that Malacañang also allow jailed Lt. Antonio Trillanes to post
bail and campaign for his senatorial bid, Bunye said the issue of
allowing Trillanes to post bail is not within the control of
government, “we leave that to the judicial processes.”
He instead called on all the
likes of Trillanes “to bring their case to court and try to get
the decision of the court in their favor.”

GO leads in Makati,
GO says Pulse Asia says so
Makati Mayor Jejomar C. Binay and
the candidates of the Genuine Opposition (GO) in Makati enjoy a
commanding lead over the candidates of the Arroyo administration,
with Binay getting 94 percent of registered voters against 3 percent
for Sen. Lito Lapid, a survey conducted by Pulse Asia said,
according to Mayor Binay.
He said in the congressional race
for the city’s second district, Atty. Abigail Binay enjoys a
commanding 55-percent voting preference among the district’s
registered voters. Her opponent, Erwin Genuino, trails with 19
percent. Genuino is the son of Pagcor Chairman Ephraim Genuino.
Binay said the Pulse Asia results
show that Makati voters, especially in the second district, have not
been swayed by the “dole outs” from the Lakas candidates. The
mayor cited reports that administration candidates have been
distributing home appliances, basketballs, cell phones, lechon,
liquor and grilled fish since October last year in an attempt to
influence Makati voters.
