Boracay has gone to the dogs!

Yes, you heard it right. The popular island destination has literally gone to man’s best friend. At Hey! Jude in Boracay, a gathering of active, energetic dogs showcased the strong bond that they have with their humans through a challenging round of dog Frisbee. Up for grabs were various cash prizes and doggie treats.

ALPO aims to give all the hot dogs of Boracay their due through the ALPO Frisbee Challenge. The Frisbee Challenge is a whole-day event which literally gives dogs their time under the sun as it offers various activities for both dogs and dog owners alike for pampering, bonding and quality time.

During whole-day event, humans and their canine counterparts enjoyed exciting activities at the ALPO Dog Fair including a dog fashion show, which showcased the hottest in canine couture, dog grooming to ensure that dogs always look their best, personalized dog trinkets for both owner and pet and other various ALPO activities and giveaways.

To make sure the dogs were at the top of their game, a pre-event activity dubbed ALPO Dog Obedience and Frisbee Clinic was also recently held in Boracay.

Participating pooches were taught how to play Frisbee by certified dog trainers as well as things about basic obedience that included reward system for positive reinforcement, enhancing the dog’s prey (play drive), and teaching the dog to come when called. Last but not the least, the dogs were also taught Frisbee skills such as starting exercises, how to catch, get the Frisbee back and how to avoid dangers.

Dog Frisbee is quickly gaining a huge following among local dog enthusiasts.

The sport allows dogs to keep healthy through the buildup and preservation of muscle mass as well as the maintenance of constant exercise.

And better yet, it allows humans and dogs to spend quality time and have fun together, strengthening that special bond with our furry friends. And the best part is that, any dog breed at all can participate!
