Whoppers eye fourth
straight win in PBL Unity Cup

EXPECT another explosive show from Ronjay Buenafe as Burger King goes for a fourth straight win against Dazz ’Sang Patak Saturday in the 2007 PBL Unity Cup at the Olivarez Sports Center.

The 6-foot Buenafe dazzled the crowd and awed his defenders by knocking in 24 points in an impressive 5-of-8 shooting from 3-point zone besides coming through with spectacular drives, in a performance that helped Burger King beat Cebuana Lhuillier Pera Padala, 80-69, last Tuesday.

The Burger King Whoppers and Dazz Kitchen Specialists collide at 4 p.m. with Buenafe expected to join forces with JR Quiñahan as they go up against the Reed Juntilla-led squad.

Clashing in the opening game at 12 noon are defending Harbour Centre and San Miguel-Magnolia, while Henkel Sista shoots for its first win in four starts against Toyota Balintawak at 2 p.m. The first two games will be aired on Basketball TV starting at 5 p.m. while the third game will be telecast on Sunday beginning at 7 p.m.

Juntilla is leading the league in scoring after averaging 18.33 points in three games but he will have to work doubly hard for his points as coach Rene Baena will likely Buenafe on him.

Baena will be calling the shots for the Whoppers in the absence of coaches Lawrence Chongson and Allan Gregorio.

Buenafe is tied for second to third places with Harbour Centre’s Jason Castro in scoring as both players normed 17.67. The 6-foot-5 Quiñahan is also doing a great job after averaging 16 points and rebounds a game.
