This is going to sound like a
rant because for the most part, it is. For all the advances that
womankind has made, it boggles the mind why a lot of women still
fail terribly when it comes to getting what they really want from
romantic relationships.
Here’s why, women seem to have
difficulty expressing what they truly desire. Let me give you an
example. Women much too often say that what they really want is a
smart guy with a good sense of humor. I call shenanigans! If that is
true, how come I see way too many intelligent and funny guys
regularly getting express tickets to the friend zone? If that is
true, then why didn’t I get laid more when I was single?
The thing is, women want a smart
and funny guy with Clooney’s charm and Brad Pitt’s abs, not just
an intelligent fat guy who can make them laugh. I don’t really
mind that women judge us men based on our looks. Heck, we do that to
them all the time. What really gets my goat is “why aren’t more
women upfront about it?” If someone told me before that I can’t
get by on just being nice and smart and funny, then maybe I would
have spent more time at the gym. It would have made my college years
a bit more interesting at least.
Then of course, once we do find
ourselves in a relationship, women will actually go out of their way
NOT to tell us what they want. It’s as if they are convinced that
if we truly share a deep emotional connection, then we should be
able to peer magically into their minds! They make us guess! They
drop hints and clues along the way hoping we will piece it together.
Guess what ladies, most of the time, we won’t! When we ask you
your preference about anything, we expect an actual answer. If you
say, “it’s up to you” then you can be certain that we will go
out with the boys, we will choose that action film over some mushy
chick flick, and yes we will try to bring in another girl for a
threesome. Women please stop testing your men! The fact that we
asked should be assurance enough. It’s not all your fault really.
Us guys are simple-minded creatures. Yes. We are dense. We make no
pretenses to be otherwise. So tell us what you want. You might be
pleasantly surprised just how willing we’ll be to oblige.
