Panasonic to launch new
line of nexgen products

Panasonic, one of the world's leading brands of innovative electronic products for consumer, business, and industrial use, is scheduled to launch its new line of next-generation products as it participates in Systems Integration Philippines on August 16 to 18 at the World Trade Center in Metro Manila.

Organized by Global-Link, Systems Integration Philippines is considered a breeding ground for new technologies and innovation, which fits Panasonic's image as a brand that hatches new ideas and provides revolutionary technology to its consumers.

Panasonic is owned and manufactured by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., a company founded in 1918 by Konosuke Matsushita.  Today, the Matsushita group of companies manufactures a comprehensive line of electric and electronic products range from electronic components to consumer electronic products, home appliances, factory automation equipment, information and communications equipment, and housing-related products.  It also offers complete range of business solutions including equipment like telecommunications systems, digital multi-function copiers and fax machines with Internet connections, mobile computing solutions for aircraft and construction use, plasma screens, home theater systems, multi-media LCD projectors, and security systems.

Among the many products it will launch include the Panasonic's 103" plasma display panel, which promises high quality image with high brightness, dynamic contrast, high resolution, and excellent color reproduction that other brands cannot match.  "Panasonic's 103-inch display represents the pinnacle of our achievement which truly redefines the level of ultimate home entertainment available for our most demanding consumers. We created it because, as worldwide sales of Plasma TVs continues to rise, the market is seeking bigger displays on which people can experience the High Definition lifestyle," says Hiroki Miyaji, General Manager of Panasonic Philippines.

The world's largest plasma display delivers more than two million pixels (1,920 x 1,080) of performance with a 261cm visible screen (diagonal). Panasonic has developed a new rib* and phosphor for these super large panels. Thus, it has a consistent and uniform discharge, delivering the same accurate images from the center to every corner of the screen. It also incorporates a 1080p processor with a System LSI, which is based on Panasonic's proprietary integrated architecture for digital consumer electronics. The new LSI incorporates the HD Optimizer that detects and reduces MPEG noise as it receives digital HD signals, producing crisp and clear images. To maximize the performance of the panel, a 1080p driver supports 16-bit image processing that produces razor-sharp motion pictures.

Another product Panasonic will showcase is its line of high-performance LCD projectors, specifically the PT-F100NTEA and PT-F100EA series.  Each model combines Panasonic's original Auto Rolling Filter with a new lamp drive system to deliver crisp, bright images over extended periods of time. Each also offers outstanding installation flexibility, with 2x zoom lens, lens shift and wireless/wired LAN functions that accommodate everything from permanent ceiling-mounted use to simple placement on a shelf.

Panasonic's line of security systems, on the other hand, has been widely recognized as the "gold standard" in biometrics.  Its line of iris readers delivers the highest form of personnel authentication and identification, and the most accurate and precise personal identification technology in the biometrics field.

The Iris Recognition System's latest model, the BM-ET200, was awarded the 'Access Control Product of the Year' 2007 at the IFSEC awards in Birmingham, UK, which is the world's leading annual exhibition for the security industry. This new iris reader is more user friendly and five times that its predecessors, and boasts a false acceptance rate of just 1 in 1.2 million, ideal for companies and establishments that require high-level security.

The Panasonic Intelligent Professional (I-Pro) Network Camera also takes security systems to the next level.  It is designed to produce high quality image, and incorporates the Super Dynamic III technology of Panasonic, ensuring accurate reproduction of subjects in any given situation.  It boasts a 22x optical zoom lens plus 10x electronic zoom, achieving a total of 220x magnification.  Being PoE ready, a single wire is only needed to transmit both power as well as data. In an event of network interference, surveillance images can be automatically backed-up to an SD memory card. Another unique feature is the Auto Tracking feature. "On a high security installation, if the camera detected a moving object, it automatically centers the object in the screen and follows the moving subject wherever it goes. P-based systems," boasts Miyaji.

The HD-PLC Ethernet Adaptor is one of the newest products of Panasonic. It brings true satisfaction by solving problems of home network systems. Using just ordinary power outlets, the device adaptor will allows one to access the Internet. Easy to set-up, it doesn't require a PC to install, and offers high-speed connection of 190 Mbps, faster than a wireless LAN system. "Having this kind of security system is important when you are running a research facility, a call center, a hotel or any office that has a lot of expensive equipment and sensitive information," he says.

Aside from these, Panasonic will also showcase a wide range of other products, including a wide range of communication equipment, such as the 2.4 GHz Digital Cordless Phone, which is loaded with the latest features, including voice enhancer, phone company voice mail compatibility, and call Waiting/caller ID.
