Russia wins 10 golds,leads Universiade


BANGKOK: Russia narrowly led the World University Games medal table on Saturday after a hectic day in which student athletes competed for 35 golds in 13 different sports.

Russia has 10 golds, 6 silvers and 8 bronzes followed by China with 9 gold medals.

South Korea is at third with six while Germany and the United States were close behind on five.

Russia won the overall title two years ago in Izmir, Turkey.
