enhancements with Windows Live; extensive personal information
manager with full-function multimedia and office applications.
On second thought: Asus is not actually
the kind of brand you buy when it comes to mobile phones.
What’s in the box: Asus P526 smartphone;
reachargeable battery and power supply; CD software and drivers, and
manual.
Tech Times’ verdict: Believe it or not,
Asus mobile phones have a loyal following. The P525 smartphone would
certainly give that market another better choice.

What is it: The world’s smallest
high-definition digital video and still camera.
Who’s it for: People looking for a
palm-sized HD digital video camera.
Wallet magnet: True high-definition 720p
MPEG-4 and 60fps fluid motion VGA-size movie recording; compatible
with SDHC (high capacity) memory cards; 10x optical zoom (up to 100x
digital zoom); 5.1-megapixel CCD sensor; Sanyo quality.
On second thought: For now, large capacity SDHC
memory cards (4GB up) needed for high-definition recordings are a
bit expensive.
What’s in the box: Sanyo Xacti HD1a;
docking station; AC adapter; high capacity Li-ion battery; an
assortment of AV USB cables and cable adapters; remote control; soft
case with hand strap, lens cap; Sanyo CD software with Mac and PC
drivers and manual.
Tech Times’ verdict: Sanyo is already a
household name. Their Xacti line of camera products are popular
around the world. The VPC-HD1A is the perfect portable model to
explore the new world of high-definition video recording.
