Units may overheat while charging

Nokia recalls millions of cell-phone batteries

THE world’s leading mobile-phone maker said Tuesday that millions of its units’ batteries could overheat triggered by a short circuit while charging.

In a statement posted in its website, Nokia said that 46 million batteries made by Ma-tsushita between December 2005 and November last year, and branded as “BL-5C” could experience over heating initiated by a short circuit while charging, causing the battery to dislodge.
