Thai government ‘satisfied’ 
with the referendum victory

 
BANGKOK: The Thai government said Tuesday it was “satisfied” after the public approved a new army-backed constitution, but it admitted surprise at the number of people who voted against.

About 57 percent of voters took part on Sunday’s referendum, and nearly 58 percent cast their ballot in favor of the charter.
