IT’S all about giving back. Many of the five-star
hotels in the metropolis are spreading holiday cheers to celebrate
the season of giving.
For the fifth consecutive year,
The Peninsula Manila is carrying on its “Trees of Hope”
campaign, a charitable fundraising initiative to benefit the global
Make-A-Wish Foundation this festive season.
Decked in festive finery, the
hotel’s Christmas tree at The Lobby is the main focus as these
heed for additional decoration through the spirit of generosity of
the hotel guests and patrons. Guests are invited to buy an ornament
to hang on the tree, with proceeds going to the programs of the
Make-A-Wish Foundation, which promotes happiness and a brief respite
for children around the world suffering from life-threatening
illnesses.
Additionally, The Peninsula
Hotels continue this holiday theme with dedicated “Trees of Hope
Cocktails” and “Teas of Hope”—a festive version of the
celebrated Afternoon Tea served at each Peninsula Hotel—with the
Make-A-Wish Foundation receiving a donation for each cocktail and
Afternoon Tea set sold.
For its part, the Makati
Shangri-La Hotel celebrates the true meaning of the season with
beautiful Christmas that are meant to make a difference in the lives
of Filipino children. Proceeds from the sale of these holiday
stockings, priced at P350 each, will be donated to the Children of
House of Refuge. The House of Refuge, a nonprofit organization that
keeps abandoned children away from the streets by providing them
with proper education, spiritual guidance and foster care.
Certified and accredited by
Philippine Council for NGO’s Certification, Bureau of Internal
Revenue and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the
foundation continues to bring hope to many children in the
Philippines.
