Philippine Sports Commission
chairman Butch Ramirez wants us not to look back at Bangkok but to
move forward.Assessing the SEA Games in Thailand, he said the
Philippines’ collapse to sixth place is the worst finish in the
SEA Games since 1977 but, he added, it should not stall plans for
future sports competitions.
But we cannot forget Thailand
because our showing there reminds us of past stupidities. And we
cannot look forward to the next SEA Games or the next Olympics
because we see another Bangkok.
