A UNIT of listed ATN Holdings, Inc. has asked the
National Tele-communications Commission for an authority to offer
radio communication network and data communication services.
In its filing, Transpacific
Broad-cast Group International, Inc. (TBGI) said it is legally,
technically and financially qualified to install and operate the
services.
The company added it has the
technical capability to install, operate and maintain the services
“Technical support will be
provided by both its competent in-house staff as well as by leading
international equipment and service providers in the field of telecommunications,”
TBGI said.
TBGI said it would source funding
internally as well as from supplier’s credit, loans and other
forms of financing and equity infusion.
The company’s total revenue
during the period decreased to P32.952 million from P33.471 million
last year owing to retreating Internet subscription
“There is an urgent need for
the services applied for the public convenience and necessity demand
...,” the company said.
TBGI is a duly registered
Clark Special Economic Zone corporation, which aims to contribute to
national development through information and communication
technology and Internet connectivity delivered in rural areas.
The company offers data services
and network reach to schools and video uplink services to local and
foreign broadcasting stations via the Mabuhay satellite in Clark,
Pampanga.
It also owns and operates
satellite facilities at the former US Air Force Satellite
Communications facility in Pampanga. It has 20 studios for media and
post-production services in the Clark Development Corporation
Satellite Operations Center.
In addition, the broadcast firm
provides real-time nationwide satellite based video/data feeds with
ad insertions, broadband point-to-point delivery, multimedia
services, video conferencing, newswires, and remote data center
co-location and management.
