ATN unit seeks regulatory
nod on radio services

A UNIT of listed ATN Holdings, Inc. has asked the National Tele-communications Commission for an authority to offer radio communication network and data communication services.

In its filing, Transpacific Broad-cast Group International, Inc. (TBGI) said it is legally, technically and financially qualified to install and operate the services.

The company added it has the technical capability to install, operate and maintain the services

“Technical support will be provided by both its competent in-house staff as well as by leading international equipment and service providers in the field of telecommunications,” TBGI said.

TBGI said it would source funding internally as well as from supplier’s credit, loans and other forms of financing and equity infusion.

The company’s total revenue during the period decreased to P32.952 million from P33.471 million last year owing to retreating Internet subscription

“There is an urgent need for the services applied for the public convenience and necessity demand ...,” the company said.

TBGI is a duly registered Clark Special Economic Zone corporation, which aims to contribute to national development through information and communication technology and Internet connectivity delivered in rural areas.

The company offers data services and network reach to schools and video uplink services to local and foreign broadcasting stations via the Mabuhay satellite in Clark, Pampanga.

It also owns and operates satellite facilities at the former US Air Force Satellite Communications facility in Pampanga. It has 20 studios for media and post-production services in the Clark Development Corporation Satellite Operations Center.

In addition, the broadcast firm provides real-time nationwide satellite based video/data feeds with ad insertions, broadband point-to-point delivery, multimedia services, video conferencing, newswires, and remote data center co-location and management.
