Dancing to fight HIV/AIDS

By Pascua Melgar

DJ Tiesto is one of the best known DJs in the world and since 2006, he has been the official worldwide ambassador for Dance4Life. Known for his incredible ability to mix, spin and get people on the dance-floor, party people all around the world have joined in the celebration of life and music!

This year’s World AIDS Day theme of leadership encourages us all to take the lead to stop AIDS well into the New Year of 2008 and beyond.

“With young people making up more than half of those living with HIV and AIDS worldwide, it is now more important than ever for young people to get informed, get involved and pledge their leadership to stop AIDS. I pledge my leadership to stop AIDS by raising awareness through music and dance. I encourage everyone, especially young people to take the lead,” says Tiesto.

Make sure to look out for the Manila Times Dance4Life celebration story in the next issue of POPOLI as hundreds of Filipinos danced ‘til dawn at Makati’s Club Government in support of HIV/AIDS awareness. Coming soon!
